Experience and Skills:

Rissa is an avid social media user both personally and professionally. As she is currently getting her M.A. in English: Professional Digital and Media Writing, which she already has her B.A. in, she has attained unique skills to the degree, including understanding trends, engagement strategies, and technical skills with editing (ex. Canva, Adobe, etc.) Furthermore, being a creator on Instagram has opened up so many opportunities, which will be listed on the screen. In the almost two years she’s had her Bookstagram, she’s gained more experience with topical, relevant, content creation than she ever thought to be possible.

She has experience running the East Stroudsburg University Writing Studio social media pages (Instagram and Facebook), as well as generating various types of PR (flyers, cctv images, written communications, etc.) Rissa was editor of the Opinion section of the Stroud Courier from September 2022-May 2023. From September 2023-December 2023 she was acting Copyeditor. While she held both positions she wrote various pieces among the different sections of the paper.
